The Tale of Peter Rabbit

This app collects nothing. It has no networking code at all — it cannot send anything anywhere, because there is nothing in it that opens a connection.

No data is collected

The app does not collect, store or transmit personal information. There are no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting and no third-party software development kits of any kind.

What stays on the device

Two small things are remembered so the book behaves like a book, and both stay on the device:

These are written to the app’s own private storage on the device. They are never sent anywhere, and they are deleted along with the app if you remove it. They are included in an iCloud or computer backup of the device, in the same way any other app’s files are.

Children

This app is made for children, and it is built so that there is nothing to collect from them. No personal information is gathered from anyone, of any age. There is no advertising, no in-app purchasing, no messaging, no user accounts and no way for a child to reach the internet from inside the app.

Microphone, camera, location, motion

None of these are used, and the app never asks for permission to use any of them. It does not read the device’s motion sensor either: everything in this book answers a finger, so there is nothing here that needs to know how the iPad is being held. The motion framework is not built into the app at all.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the revised version will be published on this page with a new date below.
